What's New in Studio 2.0

Studio 2.0 is a major refresh focused on a cleaner editing experience, more control over your site's content, and fewer papercuts. Here's what changed.

A redesigned Studio

The sidebar on the left is new — a single, persistent navigation for Dashboard, Structure, Help & Guides, and Preview Mode. You can collapse it when you want more room.

Your profile menu (bottom-left avatar) now includes quick links to Bulletins and Giving if you use those Mere products alongside your site.

Your Events page is yours

/events used to be a fixed template. In 2.0 it's a regular Page document — you can add a welcome paragraph, a hero image, or any other content blocks around the events list.

Inside that page, the new All Events block lets you choose which views visitors can switch between:

  • List — compact, month-grouped — best for a lot of events
  • Grid — image-forward cards — best when your events have strong imagery
  • Calendar — month-view calendar — best when dates are what matter

Pick one, two, or all three.

Announcement popup

The announcement bar (the thin strip at the top of every page) is still there. New in 2.0 is the Announcement Popup — a modal that greets visitors on their first visit.

Two modes:

  • Use Latest Announcement — the popup automatically shows your most recent Announcement document. Just keep creating announcements like normal and the popup stays fresh.
  • Manual content — for when you want a custom image, link, and rich text specifically for the popup.

When visitors dismiss the popup, it snoozes for 48 hours. If you update the content, they'll see it on their next visit regardless.

Auto-redirects when you rename pages

Renaming a page used to mean hunting through Settings → Redirects to manually preserve old URLs. In 2.0, Studio detects the slug change when you publish and offers to create the redirects for you — including for any child pages whose URLs change as a result.

You'll see a Slug change detected dialog with the old → new URLs. Click Publish & create redirects to accept, or Cancel to back out.

FAQ accordions for SEO

Accordion blocks now have an Is FAQ toggle. Turn it on and each item's title becomes a "question" and its content becomes an "answer" that search engines and AI assistants can pick up and display directly. Great for pages like "Plan Your Visit" or "Beliefs."

Accessibility and SEO

We did substantial under-the-hood work on 2.0: improved keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels, and structured data for search engines. Your existing content doesn't need to change — these improvements apply automatically.

Help & Guides

You're reading this in the new Help & Guides tool, built into Studio. It's searchable, and articles link to each other for deeper dives. If you don't see what you need, click Suggest a Feature in the sidebar and we'll take a look.
