The Announcement Popup is a modal overlay that appears when visitors first land on your site. It's more prominent than the announcement bar and better suited for major announcements.
Setting it up
Go to Settings → Announcement Popup. Toggle Enabled to turn it on.
Two modes
- Use Latest Announcement: When enabled, the popup automatically displays the image, title, and link from your most recent Announcement document. This is the easiest option — just create announcements in Structure → Announcements and the popup updates automatically.
- Manual content: When "Use Latest Announcement" is off, you can set a custom image, link, and rich text content directly in the popup settings. This gives you more control over what appears.
Manual content options
- Image: A featured image displayed at the top of the popup
- Image Link: Makes the image clickable
- Content: Rich text area for headings, paragraphs, images, or even embedded forms
When visitors see it
After a visitor dismisses the popup, it's snoozed for 48 hours — they won't see it again in that window, even if they close and reopen their browser.
If you update the popup's content (or publish a new Announcement when in "Use Latest" mode), visitors who've already dismissed it will see the new version on their next visit, regardless of the snooze window.
Tip: To test your popup, open an incognito/private browser window — that bypasses the saved dismissal.
