How the Mobile App Works

My Church Toolkit is a free mobile app that puts your church in your members' pockets. It's one app shared by every Toolkit church. When someone installs it, they enter your church's Church ID and the app loads your church's content.

What your members see

  • Your church's name, logo, and colors
  • Your latest sermons, with audio or video, scripture, speaker, and date
  • Contact information: your phone number and email
  • Location and driving directions
  • A link to your website
  • Optional extras you can turn on: a welcome intro, a Give button, an Events link, and a Live Stream section

Where the content comes from

You don't publish anything separately for the app. It reads from the same Studio you already use for your website, so when you update Studio, the app updates too.

| In the app | Comes from | |---|---| | Church name, logo, phone, email | Settings → General | | Colors | Settings → Customization | | Address and map | Settings → Location | | Sermons | Your Sermons resources | | Intro, Give, Events, Live Stream, section titles | Settings → Mobile App |

Sermons in the app

The app shows your most recent sermons, newest first. To appear, a sermon must:

  • Be a resource in the Sermons resource type (the one whose URL slug is sermons)
  • Be published, with a publish date that has already passed

Sermons scheduled for a future date show up in the app once that date arrives, the same as on your website.

Your Church ID

Every church has its own Church ID. Members type it into the app once to connect to your church. The easiest way to find yours is your site's download page, /free-app (for example, yourchurch.org/free-app). That page shows your code alongside install instructions. See Getting People on the App.

If that page says the app is not available for your church, your church doesn't have a Church ID set up yet. Contact the Toolkit team to get one.

Devices

The app is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. An Android version on Google Play is coming soon.
