Customizing Your App

Some of the app's look comes from settings you've already set up for your website. The rest lives in Settings → Mobile App. Changes you publish in Studio reach the app automatically. There's nothing to resubmit.

Branding and colors

The app uses your website's identity, so most of it is already done:

  • Church name and logo come from Settings → General (Site Title and Site Logo).
  • Colors come from Settings → Customization: your Primary Color, Accent Color (Dark), Accent Color (Light), Background Color (Dark), and Text Color.

Change them there, and the app and your website stay in step.

Welcome your members

Turn on Show Intro under Intro Section and add a Title and short Blurb. This is the first thing people see when they open the app, so it's a good place for a warm welcome or this season's theme. Keep the blurb to two or three sentences, since it's read on a phone.

Add giving and events

Under Navigation Links:

  • Show Giving Link: turn it on and paste your online giving URL to add a Give button. Use the full address, starting with https://.
  • Show Events Link: turn it on to give members quick access to your events.

Contact and location

  • Contact Section: turn on Show Contact Block to show your phone number and email from Settings → General. You can give the block its own title.
  • Location Section: turn on Show Location Block to show your address and directions from Settings → Location. A Location Block Title is required when this is on.

If your phone number or address is wrong in the app, fix it in General or Location Settings. Those settings feed both the app and your website.

Sermons

The app always includes your latest sermons. Under Sermons Section, you can set a Sermons Page Title and Subtitle. For example, title it "Messages" if that's what your church calls them.

Which sermons appear depends on your Sermons resources, not on anything in Mobile App Settings. See How the Mobile App Works.

Live stream

If you stream services on YouTube, turn on Show Live Stream and fill in:

  • Live Stream Page Title and Subtitle
  • Live Stream Page Blurb: a good place for your streaming schedule ("Live Sundays at 10am")
  • Live Stream YouTube Channel Name: your church's YouTube channel

Check your work

After you publish, open the app on your phone and look through each section you changed. For a full list of every field, see Mobile App Settings.
