Your website already includes a ready-made download page at /free-app (for example, yourchurch.org/free-app). It shows your Church ID and step-by-step install instructions, so it's the one link you need to share.
Share your download page
Wherever you'd normally make an announcement, point people to yourchurch.org/free-app:
- Your website. Add the page to your navigation or a homepage button. You can also run an announcement popup for a few weeks. See Navigation Settings and Announcement Popup.
- Sunday services. Put the link or a QR code on a slide or in the bulletin.
- Email and social media. Share the link in your newsletter and posts.
Tip: open the page yourself first and make sure your Church ID is showing. If it says the app is not available, contact the Toolkit team before you promote it.
The three steps your members follow
These are the same steps your download page walks them through.
1. Download the app
- Open the App Store on an iPhone or iPad. (An Android version on Google Play is coming soon.)
- Search for "My Church Toolkit".
- Tap Get or Install.
The Download on the App Store button on your download page links straight to the app.
2. Enter your Church ID
- Open My Church Toolkit from the home screen.
- When prompted, enter your church's Church ID. It's shown on your download page.
- Tap Submit.
3. Stay connected
The app loads your church's content: latest sermons, links to your website, driving directions, and anything else you've turned on in Settings → Mobile App.
Helping someone in person
If someone gets stuck, the most common problems are:
- Wrong app. They need My Church Toolkit, not your church's name. Every Toolkit church shares the same app.
- Wrong code. Check the Church ID against your download page, character for character.
- Android phone. The Android version isn't out yet. In the meantime, they can use your website on their phone's browser.
Make a good first impression
Before a big push, open the app yourself and check what new members will see first. Turning on a welcome Intro and making sure your latest sermon is published both go a long way. See Customizing Your App.
