Recurring Events

Events can be set to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly using the recurrence settings.

Setting up recurrence

In the Date & Time section, you'll see options for recurrence after setting a start date. You can set:

  • Frequency: Daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly
  • End date: When the recurrence stops

Here, you'll mark the start date and the end date (even if it's the same day, you'll select the same day and add the end time. This makes it easier for our system to deal with multi-day events). You'll also set the time. This is a systematically arbitrary (that is, our system doesn't read it for organization) field that simply makes the event card more accessible.

You can also change the frequency on several levels. If you wanted, you could make an event repeat every 7 years, or 13 months, or any other amount of time. When you have the frequency set to Month, you can select if you would like a specific day of the week, and a specific week of that month (e.g. I want this event to repeat monthly on the third Monday of that month).

Note: The recurrence plugin uses its own labels and terminology, which can be a bit confusing. The key thing is: set a start date, choose your frequency, and set an end date. The system will generate all the individual occurrences automatically.
