The People system uses categories to organize who appears where on your site. Understanding how categories connect to Staff Embed blocks is key.
How it works
- Create categories in Structure → Person Categories (e.g., "Pastoral Staff," "Elders," "Deacons")
- Assign each person to one or more categories
- On a page, add a Staff Embed content block
- The Staff Embed block lets you choose which category to display
Display order
People within a category are sorted alphabetically by their Alphabetized Name. To control the order, set this field manually on each person.
Multiple categories
A person can belong to multiple categories. For example, a Lead Pastor might appear in both "Pastoral Staff" and "Elders." They'll show up in any Staff Embed block that references either category.
Tip: If someone isn't showing up on your staff page, check two things: (1) they're assigned to the right category, and (2) the Staff Embed block on the page is set to display that category.
